Red Deer Downs Hurricanes 2-1 in Overtime

John Persson scored in overtime as the Red Deer Rebels beat the Hurricanes 2-1 in overtime Friday night.  Daniel Johnston scored the lone goal for Lethbridge on a power play late in the second period.  Red Deer out shot the Hurricanes 30-28 in this game. Lethbridge remains five points behind Prince Albert for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.  This was also the 18th game this season for the Hurricanes that has gone into extra time. The Canes' battled hard once again against the second-best team in the WHL, but just fell a goal short.  The Hurricanes next action is Saturday (Feb. 19) when they play host to the Edmonton Oil Kings.  Game time is 7:00 pm (MST).  The pre-game on CJOC at 6:30.
