Pats Even Eastern Final With OT Win Against Hurricanes

Adam Brooks scored late in the first OT as the Regina Pats beat the Hurricanes 3-2 in Game Two of the WHL East Final.

Adam Brooks scored late in the first overtime as the Regina Pats evened up the WHL Eastern Conference Final at 1-1. The Pats lead the game 2-0 in the third period until the Hurricanes scored twice in a span of under 30 seconds with goals from Zane Franklin and Jordy Bellerive to tie the game at 2-2. That was enough to send things to OT. Adam Brooks though managed to end the game at the 17:05 mark of the extra frame to win it for Regina. Stuart Skinner was great in goal for Lethbridge as the Canes were out shot 51-31. He was the reason the Hurricanes had a chance in this one. Both teams went 0/4 on the power play. With the series now tied at one, it's essentially a best-of-five affair. Games 3 and 4 are set for Tuesday and Wednesday (Apr. 25-26) at the ENMAX Centre. Game 5 is back in Regina Friday. - Pat Siedlecki
