The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed 17 year old forward Brendan Stafford to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed 17 year old forward Brendan Stafford to a WHL Standard Player Agreement. The Edmonton product played his Bantam hockey with the Sherwood Park Flyers in 2014-2015 and went on to play one season with the Shattuck St. Mary's Midget A program. He played 60 games with the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta Junior Hockey League this past season. Hurricanes GM Peter Anholt says Stafford isn't a big player but has very good hockey sense, adding he's a skilled player who can play centre or right-wing and will be a good add for the organization next season. Stafford was also teammates with Hurricanes defenseman Koletrane Wilson and is the younger cousin of Boston Bruins forward Drew Stafford. He wasn't drafted in the WHL Bantam Draft. -Tina Giesbrecht
