The Lethbridge Hurricanes lost 3-2 Saturday afternoon to Seattle in a shootout at Kennewick, Washington.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes lost 3-2 to the Seattle Thunderbirds Saturday afternoon in Kennewick, Washington.  The Canes' took a 2-1 lead with less than a minute to go, but Seattle scored on a power play with 8 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.  The extra period solved nothing, but the T-Birds managed to complete the last-second comeback in a shootout.  Rookie Russ Maxwell had one goal and an assist for the Hurricanes, but it was the play of goalie Tanner Kovacs that stole the show.  Lethbridge was outshot 51-18 in the game.  The Canes' are back home Tuesday to play host to Red Deer.  Game time is 7pm (MDT) at Nicholas Sheran Arena.
