2010 Sport Achievement Awards Announced

The 2010 Lethbridge Sport Council Achievement Awards have been announced.

The 2010 Lethbridge Sport Council Achievement Awards have been announced. There are ten awards in all. Hurricanes forward Mitch Maxwell takes home the Senior Male Athlete of the year while University of Lethbridge track and field star Heather Steacy is Senior Female Athlete of the year. The Southwest Little League Minor AAA Allstars win the 2010 Amateur Team award. Winston Churchill high school student, Justin Cameron is the Outstanding Sport Citizen, Knud Pederson, who's been involved in Lethbridge sports for decades, takes home the Spirit in Sport Award. Junior Male Athlete of the year goes to four-time Junior Provincial Racquetball Champion and two-time Junior National Champion, 14 year old Coby Iwaasa. The Junior Female Athlete of 2010 is figure skater Jazlyn Tabachniuk who recently competed at the Canada Winter Games. Assistant coach with the LA Swim Club, Mike Pinder, takes home the Coaching Excellence award.  Eunice David, who's been volunteering with the Lethbridge Figure Skating Club for 39 years, wins the Volunteer in Sport award and Cheryl Gudmundson is the 2010 Sport Administrator for her 19 years of volunteer experience with Lethbridge Minor Hockey. Awards will be handed out March 31st.
