It took an extra week but the Town of Vauxhall has an unofficial list of civic election candidates.
It looks like there will be an election in Vauxhall after all. The community was given a one-week nomination extension after the initial deadline came and went last Monday without enough candidates. Fortunately, Chief Administrative Officer Barbara Miller, says eight people have now stepped up to run for Vauxhall's six council seats, otherwise the provincial government would have had to intervene. After that, options may have included another nomination extension or a reduction in the number of council seats. Only one person sought the Vauxhall Mayor's chair. Former councilor Gordon Brown was elected by acclamation last week.
