Two More Enter Lethbridge Aldermanic Race

The list of candidates running for Lethbridge City Council continues to grow.

The list of candidates running for Lethbridge City Council continues to grow.  Alderman Shaun Ward has announced he's running again. He's served the community since first being election in 1992 and he's not ready to give that up. Ward says that "he wouldn't get that kind of support unless citizens were satisfied with his performance. Ward goes on to say that "during uncertain economic times it is important to maintain financial resources, support existing services, and encourage planned growth which keeps people employed and our quality of life secure".

James Moore added his name to the list of those running for alderman as well.  He says he would try to put a halt to urban sprawl and have the city look seriously at becoming a player in the production and distribution of wind and solar energy. The local businessman and college instructor says "the world is going in that direction. Why wouldn't it be in the interests of the city to do a feasibility study with a view to creating a municipally-owned corporation like Enmax?"  Moore is a former chairman of the Southern Alberta Council on Public Affairs.
