Over $227,000 in Grants Given Out by Community Foundation of Lethbridge & Southwestern Alberta

Thirty projects across southwest Alberta, in 14 local communities, will be sharing $227,800 in grant money.

The Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta is proud to announce funding for 30 projects through the Community Priorities Grants program, for a total of $227,800. Grants for these projects are provided through the Community Priorities Fund, which exists as the result of private donations received from generous individuals since 1966. Gifts to the Community Priorities Fund are unrestricted, and serve the most pressing needs of our community. Twice a year, the Community Foundation accepts proposals for grants from the Community Priorities Fund, supporting the work of many worthy charitable causes throughout Southwestern Alberta. These grants will support a variety of important projects in 14 communities throughout Southwestern Alberta. Grants will go to technology upgrades, facility renovations, and enhanced learning opportunities, as well as projects that support the arts, increase public safety, and foster community engagement. A list of grant recipients and brief project descriptions follows below. “The funding for our Community Priorities Fund comes from generous donors who trust us to identify and support a wide range of important projects that will help enhance the quality of life for residents of Southwestern Alberta,” said Charleen Davidson, Executive Director. “It’s always exciting to see what different organizations are working on, and to be able to support their projects is a privilege.” Through our annual grants program, donors can be confident that the Community Foundation is able to identify and support a wide range of community initiatives throughout Southwestern Alberta. The Community Foundation would like to extend special thanks to the Lethbridge Auto Dealers Association (LADA) for contributing a combined $10,000 to seven projects.
