Lethbridge Curling Club Making Bid to Host 2019 World Men's Curling Championships

The Lethbridge Curling Club, along with the ENMAX Centre is putting a bid together to host the 2019 Men's World Curling Championships.

Lethbridge is making a pitch to host another major sporting event. The Lethbridge Curling Club and the ENMAX Centre are putting a bid together to host the 2019 World Men's Curling Championship. Curling Club General Manager, Kirk Mearns tells our radio station the ball is rolling. He says the Curling Club is currently soliciting support from local businesses and organizations and if given the green light from City Council, the plan is to submit a bid to Curling Canada by December 1st. The Curling club will be going to Council November 27th asking for financial support for the bid. Lethbridge has had great success in hosting previous major curling events, including the Scotties Tournament of Hearts twice and most recently the World Women's Curling Championships in 2013. - Pat Siedlecki
