Another significant drug bust at the Coutts border crossing - the second in less than three weeks. On December 17th, CBSA officers intercepted a semi truck hauling produce from California and destined for an Alberta business. Inside, they found 17 bricks of suspected cocaine totalling 21 kilograms. The driver was turned over to RCMP and charged. 39 year old Kuldeep Singh of Calgary has been charged on four counts under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He was due in Lethbridge Provincial Court Thursday and the case was adjourned to early February 2018. Back on December 2nd, 84 bricks of cocaine were discovered in a semi truck at Coutts which was also hauling produce from California and destined for an Alberta business.
