The U of L Pronghorns will head into this weekends games with a new, yet familiar face behind the bench.
With the lockout out rolling into it's 8th week, a local NHL star will turn his talents to behind the bench. Florida Panthers forward and Lethbridge native Kris Versteeg will make his coaching debut with the U of L Pronghorns this weekend. The Horns bench now short an Assistant with Jeff Truitt heading to the Red Deer Rebels, Head Coach Greg Gatto says Versteeg's request for ice time came at the right time. He tells CJOC he jokingly threw it out to Versteeg if he wanted to help out a little bit and he jumped at it. Gatto believes it's great for the U of L as it gives the men's hockey team a bit more exposure. The U of L hosts Mount Royal Friday night at Nicholas Sheran Arena. - Jessica Jackson
