Hurricanes Down Kootenay ICE 3-2

The Lethbridge Hurricanes extended their lead atop the WHL's Central Division Wednesday night.

Jake Elmer scoring a late third period goal to lift the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 3-2 win over the Kootenay ICE Wednesday night at the ENMAX Centre.

Jordy Bellerive and Dylan Cozens scored the others for Lethbridge, extending the team's win streak to three games. The win also increased the Hurricanes lead atop the Central Division standings by three points over both Edmonton and Red Deer.

The ICE goaltender was outstanding Wednesday night as the Canes pounded 54 shots his way. Kootenay had only 22 on the night.

The Hurricanes next action is Friday (Jan. 11) when the host Edmonton.
