The red hot Swift Current Broncos kept their early season strong play intact Friday as they beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 6-4 at the ENMAX Centre. Tyler Steenbergen scored four times for Swift Current to lead the way. He leads the WHL with 20 goals already in just 10 games on the season. For the Canes, Jordy Bellerive scored twice while Dylan Cozens and Zane Franklin had the others in a losing cause. The Hurricanes out shot Swift Current 35-25 despite the loss. The Canes went 2/3 on the power play in this game. The Broncos were a perfect 2/2. The loss drops the Hurricanes back below the .500 mark on the season with a 4-5 record. Swift Current improves to 9-1, the best record in the WHL's Eastern Conference. The Hurricanes are back in action at home Sunday (Oct. 22) when the host rival Medicine Hat.
