Canes Beat Hitmen 3-1 in Calgary; Earn First Road Win of WHL Season

Finally a win away from the ENMAX Centre for the Lethbridge Hurricanes as they beat the Hitmen Sunday afternoon in Calgary.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes finally have their first road win of the season, beating the Hitmen 3-1 Sunday at the Saddledome in Calgary. Giorgio Estephan, Jordy Bellerive, and Zane Franklin scored the three Lethbridge goals in this game. After losing at home Friday to Everett, the Canes bounced back with a solid win Sunday, improving their record to an even 4-4 on the season. Lethbridge out shot Calgary 37-31. Special teams was the difference as the Hurricanes scored two of their three goals on the power play. The Hurricanes are back home now for a long stretch as the begin a seven game home stand starting Friday (Oct. 20) when they host the red hot Swift Current Broncos. - Pat Siedlecki
