Things are finally looking up for southern Alberta farmers.
Things are finally looking up for southern Alberta farmers. Warm and windy conditions the past few days is helping to dry out and ripen late maturing crops. Lethbridge Agronmist Ross McKenzie says the forecast this week of temperatures into the mid to high 20's is exacly what farmers need to finish up the harvest. He says farmers have been waiting for this kind of weather for the past month and now, at the end of September and what will soon be early October, we're finally getting it. McKenzie says if these conditions continue for another couple of weeks, things look promising for a good harvest across southern Alberta. He notes the strong, warm winds are very good too as they help in drying things out even faster.
