Two Lethbridge men are facing charges after an incident over the weekend where a police officer was injured and two cruisers were damaged. Police were attempting a traffic stop Saturday evening when the suspect vehicle refused to pull over and began driving erratically on icy roads, hitting a parked car along the 300 block of 12B street north. The officer used his cruiser to pin the vehicle up against a tree to prevent it from leaving though the driver continued trying to break free. Additional officers arrived on scene and two police cars ended up with damage before the driver gave-up trying to escape. He resisted arrest though and an officer suffered minor injuries in the altercation. Police say further investigation revealed the driver was wanted on numerous warrants, the passenger was in breach of conditions and the licence plate was stolen. 37 year old Jyi Mickell Trotter has been charged with flight from a peace officer, dangerous driving, two counts of resisting a police officer, assault a police officer with a weapon, fail to stop at an accident and possession of stolen property.  25 year old John Elvis Jones is charged with breaching the conditions of his release. -Tina Giesbrecht
