Constable Troy Heystek was charged last April after an incident in Granum.

A trial is expected to go ahead late this fall for a member of the Fort Macleod RCMP charged with assault.

Last April, Mounties say an officer responded to a 911 call at a home in Granum. After confirming the resident was okay, it's alleged that Constable Troy Heystek pushed and punched the resident following a verbal exchange.

Heystek is currently assigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of his trial.

A two day long trial is scheduled for August 8th and 9th in Lethbridge Provincial Court.
