Taber Police Charge Medicine Hat Man Following Serious Assault

Scott Wallace, 45 from Medicine Hat, is facing a list of charges and is believed to know the female victim.

A Medicine Hat man has been charged in connection to a serious assault just before Christmas Eve in Taber. On December 23 around 9:00 p.m., Taber Police were called to reports of a serious assault with a knife in the 5500 block of 38 Avenue. A female was found at the scene with severe injuries to her face and was taken to hospital for treatment. Officers later found the suspect at a nearby apartment and he was taken into custody. It's believed that the victim and suspect are known to each other. Scott Wallace, 45 from Medicine Hat, is now facing a list of charges including aggravated assault, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. He is expected to appear in Taber Provinicial Court on January 9 for a bail hearing. -Sam Borsato
