Two people are facing charges after an incident in Taber this week involving a stolen licence plate and drugs

On Tuesday (Dec. 5) Taber Police (TPS) were dispatched to a complaint of a stolen licence plate from a vehicle.  During the same time, the TPS Community Standards officer was investigating a suspicious vehicle illegally parked in an alley in the 5800 block of 56 Street. While police were attending to the vehicle, a man was seen nearby and he fled the scene when he observed the police. A foot chase ensued which resulted in the suspect being apprehended.

It was determined the vehicle had been stolen out of the Coaldale area and that the licence plate was stolen locally. A search incidental to arrest also revealed an amount of crystal methamphetamine, codeine and drug paraphernalia.
