RCMP Recover $23,000 Worth of Batteries Stolen From Nanton & Claresholm Areas

Two people from Calgary have been arrested and charged after several batteries were stolen recently from southern Alberta oil well sites.

Two people from Calgary have been arrested, accused of being in possession of thousands of dollars worth of of stolen batteries.

This week, Nanton and Claresholm RCMP received several complaints about batteries being taken from various oil well sites in the area. They were later tipped off and tracked down 47 stolen batteries in Calgary and with the help of police in that city, arrested a man and woman.

31 year old Justin Dalton and 25 year old Alexandra Smith are facing a number of charges.

Mounties say the stolen batteries are worth $23,000.
