Executive Director of Public Interest Alberta, Joel French, says Albertan's have to bite the bullet and get ready for a sales tax if they want to enjoy the services they currently have.

An executive director from a provincial think tank telling the Southern Alberta council on public affairs that the only real way to get a handle on the provincial deficit is making Albertans pay a dreaded "Sales Tax".

Executive Director of Public Interest Alberta, Joel French, says Albertan's have to bite the bullet and get ready for a sales tax if they want to enjoy everything they currently have, adding that a Sales Tax will help solve the problems we have with sustainability.

French says Albertan's have relied on resource revenue far too long and a lot of that revue has disappeared never to return.

Mr. French added it's a good thing  that 300 thousand Albertan's will be getting a $15 minimum wage come October First.
