RCMP in Fort Macleod are looking for some thieves who've stolen thousands of pounds of wire from a Fortis Alberta job site.

Mounties in Fort Macleod are investigating yet another theft of expensive wire, the second one in the past week. This one took place at the same Fortis Alberta job site near Highway 811 and Township Road 93 just north of Fort Macleod sometime between February 7th and 8th. RCMP say a large reel of underground wire encased in black plastic was stolen. The reel weighs more than 2000 pounds and was more than 6 feet tall. The first wire theft from that job site happened between February 1st and 7th. Police say in that incident 90 meters of underground cable was cut out and taken after it had been installed. Anyone with information is asked to contact Fort Macleod RCMP Crime Stoppers. - Pat Siedlecki
