Picture Butte RCMP Arrest Man & Woman Accused in Rural Crime Incidents

RCMP in Picture Butte have laid charges against a 30 year old man and 26 year old woman following an investigation into allegations of possession of a stolen pick up and Flight from Police.

RCMP in Picture Butte have arrested a man and woman for allegedly being in possession of a stolen truck and running from police. Back in mid-January, an officer tried to pull over a pick-up truck on Highway 845 near Nobleford when the vehicle fled. The suspect, from Coaldale was later arrested in Lethbridge and is currently in jail on these charges as well as several others from across southern Alberta. He'll appear in court in Lethbridge on March 8th. Mounties say in a separate arrest, a 26 year old woman recently pleaded guilty to charges in Red Deer, some of which stem from the theft of a truck, trailer and back hoe in Coalhurst three years ago. She received 8 months in jail on those charges. Picture Butte RCMP Sergeant Tom Howell says police continue to target repeat offenders who are responsible for much of the rural crime in the area. - Pat Siedlecki
