Motorcyclist Injured After Crash on Highway 3 Near Bridge Construction

Lethbridge Police are reminding drivers to take extra caution in construction zones following a motorcycle crash near the Highway 3 bridge deck on Tuesday afternoon.

One person was taken to hospital Tuesday (May 15) after a late afternoon crash on Highway 3. Lethbridge Police say it happened as eastbound vehicles were merging leading up to the construction on the bridge deck.

LPS say the motorcycle driver’s injuries are believed to be non life threatening. The motorcyclist had swerved to avoid vehicles slowing down as they entered the construction zone just before Bridge Drive and lost control.

Police are reminding drivers to exercise extreme caution in construction zones.

With the warm weather there has been an increase in motorcycles on the road. Lethbridge Police say their focus this month of May is motorcycle safety and the public is also reminded speed fines are double in construction zones.
