The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the extinguishers can become clogged and the nozzle is known to come off.
A massive recall being put in place for fire extinguishers made by the company Kidde. More than 40-million of the extinguishers are being recalled across the United States and Canada, with the company noting that they can become clogged and the nozzle is known to come off. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says it's aware of one death when a Kidde fire extinguisher failed during an emergency. The recall is for 134 push-button and plastic-handle models made from 1973 to August 15, 2017. Owners of the recalled fire extinguishers are asked to contact Kidde for a replacement or for more information on how to return them. -Sam Borsato
