Lethbridge Unemployment Rate Jumps Up By 0.6%

The Lethbridge-Medicine Hat region recording a sharp increase in unemployment last month

The jobless rate in this area rose from 3.9% in November to 4.5% in December.
 
Red Deer had the lowest rate at 4.4%, which is way down from 5.4% in November.
 
Alberta as a whole remained fairly steady at 6.1-percent unemployment in December.
 
The national rate stuck at a 43-year low of 5.2%.

Lethbridge-Medicine Hat: 4.5%
Camrose-Drumheller: 7.0%
Calgary: 7.0%
Banff-Jasper-Rocky Mountain House: 5.2%
Athabasca-Grande Prairie-Peace River: 5.2%
Red Deer: 4.4%
Edmonton: 5.8%
Wood Buffalo-Cold Lake: 5.1%
