Lethbridge Police Charge Man With Stealing Poppy Boxes

A 29 year old man is facing charges after three poppy boxes were stolen at different locations around Lethbridge in the last two weeks.

Lethbridge Police have charged a 29 year old man in connection with the theft of three poppy boxes throughout the city. The thefts occurred between Nov. 5 and Nov. 9 at the Tim Hortons along the 2600 block of Scenic Drive North, 400 block of Scenic Drive South, and 7-11 along the 2600 block of Scenic Drive North.  Surveillance images of the suspect were obtained and on Nov. 12, 2017 an officer observed a man matching the description walking in the downtown area. The suspect fled from police but was later located at the shelter where he was arrested without incident. Investigation is ongoing in relation to additional thefts and further charges. It is unknown how much money the boxes contained. 29 year old Brendon Lyndon Plaited Hair is charged with three counts of theft under $5000. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 29. - Lethbridge Police Release
