A Lethbridge man is facing an extensive list of charges after allegedly evading three police departments early last Tuesday. The high-speed chase began just before 8am when a peace officer reported a pick-up truck traveling more than 150 kilometres per hour through Claresholm. A Nanton RCMP officer attempted to stop the truck, which turned out to be stolen, but abandoned the chase when the driver sped up along Highway 2. The suspect also evaded a spike belt deployed by High River RCMP before he veered off the road and lost control of the truck, which hit the ditch and rolled. The driver fled on foot and officers finally tracked him down in a nearby field. 26 year old Richard Andrew Pearson has been charged with a number of driving offences and possession of stolen property.
