Nervous times for Southern Alberta farmers as cool temperatures seriously delay harvest.
These are nervous times for southern Alberta farmers. Very cool temperatures have seriously delayed harvest right across the region. In fact, some fields south of Lethbridge still have flowering canola, something that's almost unheard of at this time of year. Agronomist Ross McKenzie says local farmers are getting concerned. He notes most farmers have done very little harvest if any and usually harvest is about 80% complete by this time. McKenzie says in his 30 plus years as an Agronomist he's never seen such a late harvest in southern Alberta.
