Judge Hands Lethbridge Woman Five Years For Dealing Carfentanil

27 year old Samantha Hattersley was given a lengthy prison sentence for trafficking the deadly elephant tranquilizer drug, carfentanil.

A Lethbridge woman will spend five years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking the deadly drug carfentanil.

27 year old Samantha Hattersley was arrested last February (2018) in Claresholm when police found her in possession of nearly 115 grams of carfentanil, which is 100 times more potent than fentanyl.

The total estimated value of the drugs was believed to be more than $45,000. Hattersley pleaded guilty Wednesday (Jan. 30) to possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Three other charges against her were dropped.
