Constable Troy Heystek of the Fort Macleod RCMP detachment is alleged to have pushed and punched a resident, after responding to a 911 call back in April.
A member of the Fort Macleod RCMP detachment has been charged with assault.
Back in April of this year, Mounties say an officer responded to a 911 call at a home in Granum. After confirming the resident was OK, it's alleged Constable Troy Heystek pushed and punched the resident, following a verbal exchange.
After a lengthy investigation by Crowsnest Pass RCMP, Heystek was charged this week with one count of assault. He's now been reassigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of his trial.
Constable Heystek’s first appearance will be in Lethbridge Provincial Court January 15th, 2019
