First Lethbridge Blue Bin Pick-Ups Starting May 14

Most Lethbridge households should have their blue recycling bins now with the first pick-up slated to start in just a matter of days.

We're inching closer to the start of curbside recycling.

Over the past three weeks, some 33,000 blue carts have been delivered to every corner of the city, but Lethbridge Waste and Recycling Operations Manager, Juliane Ruck, says if you happen to be without one, there is a quick fix.

"Our message is to our 311 centre and they will create a service request and one of our staff will look into what happened and hopefully those who don't have carts will in the next few days", says Ruck.

Residents are encouraged to check the information package that came with their blue cart as it contains details on the first recycling pick up. For some neighbourhoods that day is May 14th.

Ruck also notes the same rules that apply to the black garbage carts apply to the blue recycling bins when it comes to placement on the curb.
