City Looking Into Wrong 911 Dispatch

Changes could be on the way for the City’s Public Safey Communication Centre after EMS team sent to wrong location.

Changes could be on the way for the City’s Public Safey Communication Centre. This, after an E.M.S. team was sent to the wrong location for a 9-1-1 call August 25th. Reports show the team was dispatched to the Lethbridge Centre Mall’s Senior Bridges Program, but when it was determined to be the wrong location, emergency workers were redirected to the Lethbridge Seniors’ Centre. After an initial investigation, the way a computer system manages location names has been changed. Communication Centre Manager Chris Kearns says they’re investigating to ensure required changes will be made.
