By next fall, Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge will have eight detox beds and a number of different supports to help those recovering from substance use.
Chinook Regional Hospital is getting a number of detox beds which will assist those in recovering from substance dependencies. Alberta's Associate Health Minister, Brandy Payne was in Lethbridge Thursday to take a tour of CRH where those 8 detox beds will be housed. She says there's definitely a need here and notes construction will get underway next week. She says these new detox beds in Lethbridge will allow people to come and get treatment as well as initiate psycho-social supports which will help a lot on their road to recovery. Payne notes it's important that when Albertans are looking for supports with substance use challenges, that help is readily available for them and as close to home as possible. The new CRH detox beds should be ready to take patients by late next summer or early fall. - Pat Siedlecki
