Case Against Lethbridge Mother Accused of Assaulting Her Child Could be Resolved Soon

The 26 year old woman and her 32 year old boyfriend -- both of whom cannot be named to protect the boy's identity -- are charged with assault and failing to provide the necessaries of life.

A mother accused of assaulting her two-year old son could soon have her matter resolved. The 26 year old and her 32 year old boyfriend -- both of whom cannot be named to protect the boy's identity -- are charged with assault and failing to provide the necessaries of life. The man remains in jail at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre. The Crown told court Friday (Feb. 9) many resolution discussions have taken place, but have not been completed as they're waiting on the outcome of the boyfriend's case first. A defence lawyer for the woman had the case adjourned for more than a month to March 23rd. Lethbridge Police responded to a tip in September that the toddler may be in danger and a hospital exam later revealed injuries all over the boy's body. The mother's boyfriend will be back in court March 2nd. - Sam Borsato
