Canada's NDP has launched a major new initiative called the "Lethbridge Declaration."

Canada's NDP has launched a major new initiative called the "Lethbridge Declaration." It's a grassroots effort to build the NDP in the prairie provinces and position the party for government in 2015. Vice President of the Alberta NDP, Keith McLaughlin, says Lethbridge represents what the west is in many ways, adding it has a growing population which is also becoming increasingly diverse, and has strong agricultural, rural and First Nations connections. He also says Lethbridge has been an example to the rest of the country by turning hard work into hope. The Lethbridge Declaration will be created through a number of regional meetings across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba in the coming months. -Tina Giesbrecht
