Canada, US, Mexico to Host 2026 World Cup

Canada and Mexico could stage 10 games each, while the U.S. could be hosting 60.

Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal are candidate host cities now that FIFA member associations have voted in favour of North America hosting the 2026 World Cup. Canada, Mexico and the United States will share hosting duties of the high profile soccer championship. FIFA will be selecting up to 16 host cities from 23 candidates. While plans are not set in stone at this time, it looks like Canada and Mexico could stage 10 games each while the U.S. could be hosting 60. The men's soccer showcase will also see the number of teams expand from 32 to 48. North America beat out Morocco -- which has now lost five bid campaigns -- for the 2026 tournament. -Sam Borsato
