A Calgary man charged following a series of brazen car dealership break-ins and vehicle thefts in Lethbridge has been sentenced to just under two years in jail, however he won't have to serve any of that time behind bars.

23 year old Eric Christopher Smith was in a Lethbridge courtroom Wednesday (Jan. 9).

The incidents happened back in late November 2017. Smith broke into a couple of local dealerships, stole and rammed some vehicles and then lead police on a chase east on Highway 3.

He recently pleaded guilty to several charges, however because of time served in custody since his arrest, he was let go.
