Big Jump in Lethbridge Gasoline Prices; Further Hikes Likely Within Next Week

Gas prices in Lethbridge jumped 10 cents a litre Wednesday morning

Some sticker shock at local gas stations and it looks like it's going to get worse before it gets better.

A huge jump in gasoline prices to start off the month of November. Most gas stations in Lethbridge have hiked prices Wednesday (Nov. 1) now selling a litre of regular unleaded for $114.9 a litre. Petroleum Analyst Dan McTeague with Gas Buddy Dot Com says unfortunately this is likely going to get worse and soon. He says indications are we could be to around $1.20 a litre by the end of this weekend or early next week. He notes a major pipeline rupture in the United States means demand for gasoline has gone up big time and prices are following suit. He says it could take several days to get that fixed as well. McTeague says the highest gas prices in all of North America right now are in Vancouver, sitting at a $1.43 a litre. - Pat Siedlecki
