For the third time in six months an unlicensed tattoo operation has been shutdown in the Lethbridge area. Alberta Health Services has ordered the closure of Vinet Ink, an unlicensed, home-based tattoo operation run by Eric Vinet. South-Zone Medical Officer of Health, Dr.Vivien Suttorp, says viruses can spread through unsanitary tattoo procedures. If you've received a tattoo from Vinet, you're asked to get tested for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV. Suttorp says AHS officials haven't been able to locate Vinet and are asking him to come forward with a client list. Two other unauthorized tattoo parlors were shutdown this past spring, one in Lethbridge and one in Taber.
