Spring Nature Fest
Friday, March 15th
The Helen Schuler Nature Centre invites everyone to celebrate the
change of seasons at Spring Nature Fest on Friday March 15 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The fifth annual
family festival will offer opportunities to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Lethbridge river valley and
will feature activities by Waterton Lakes National Park, Oldman Watershed Council, and Lethbridge
College’s Early Childhood Education Program.
Spring Nature Fest offers a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including: geocaching, crafts, live music,
scavenger hunts, building challenges, loose parts playground, and much more!
“Everyone is excited to see the arrival of spring,” says Jessica Deacon-Rogers with the
Helen Schuler Nature Centre, “Spring Nature Fest provides a great opportunity for
families to come together to appreciate the subtle changes on the landscape and the
clear signs that spring is well underway!”
This year Spring Nature Fest will feature a large loose parts playground setup by the Lethbridge College
in the outdoor play square. ‘Wildlife, Boots, and Cars’ an interactive game by Waterton Lakes National
Park. ‘The Incredible Journey’ an interactive experience with the Oldman Watershed Council. The Nature
Centre will offer crafts, outdoor activities, and geocaching throughout the afternoon. In addition, there
will be a number of building challenges in the Brain Zone Exhibit as well as opportunities to enjoy live
music during the festival with the Lethbridge Buskers Association. Attendees will be rewarded with a
chance to win their own hammock as part of a door prize pack!
“Spring offers so much for the casual observer – whether it is the returning birds, the first
blooms of the year, or the change of colours around us,” says Curtis Goodman with the
Helen Schuler Nature Centre, “Activities at Spring Nature Fest help us to recognize the
subtle changes all around us and appreciate the natural beauty of Lethbridge.”
Spring Nature Fest has something for everyone and provides a great chance to discover all that spring
has to offer right in the heart of the city! The event will take place throughout the afternoon, at no
charge, at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. Everyone is encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool with
friends to the event.
