Montreal Canadiens Alumni Tour in Brooks
Thursday, March 14th
The Montreal Canadiens Alumni Tour 2019 is coming to Brooks! A fundraiser for Crossroads Clinic, the
game itself pits ex-NHL players against local hockey enthusiasts – the Crossroads Challengers! The game
will be hosted in the Centennial Regional Arena on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 7pm.
There will be both a 3 period adult game and a short children’s intermission game against the Alumni,
which is sure to be the highlight of the evening. Each adult and child player will represent an important
part of the community – whether that’s a business, organization, or group. Even City Councillor Joel
Goodnough will be joining in the challenge as a goalie for the home team.
The staff and volunteers at Crossroads Clinic hope that the event will be a good fundraiser for the
charity that provides free programs and services to the community related to sexual health and healthy
relationships. But there are other benefits for an event like this.
Executive Director Amy Dyck agrees. “If there’s anything that can bring a community like Brooks
together, it’s hockey. We hope that this event will be a positive experience for people in the community
and even serve as a tourist attraction for the Newell Region. When you get a chance to bring in a big
name like the Montreal Canadiens Alumni, you take it!”
The game will include an opportunity for VIP ticket holders to meet the Montreal Canadiens Alumni
Team after the game, where they can have up to two items signed. Tickets for the event can be
purchased online at crossroadsclinic.ca, or at the Steaming Cup or Work N Play in Brooks.
Special thanks to the Newell Regional Tourism Association and the City of Brooks for partially sponsoring
